A well-maintained board is key to a healthier kitchen! š§¼āØ Wood cutting boards, in particular, can harbor bacteria and harmful microorganisms if not cleaned thoroughly. This can lead to cross-contamination and compromise the freshness of your food. By taking the time to clean and sanitize your cutting board, you're not just protecting your foodāyou're prioritizing your well-being. Instructions: Add baking soda and coarse salt to the entire board. Take half a lemon a squeeze the juice onto the board activating the baking soda resulting in a cleaning paste. Use the lemon rind to scrub the board thoroughly into all the nooks and crannies. Let sit for 20-30 minutes to work its magic. Rinse off and pat dry. Lastly, add coconut oil to the board and lather it up! Between these two photos is two years! It doesnāt happen overnight. And believe it or not thereās maybe only a 2-3lb difference (if that). In the first photo I was starving myself, maybe eating around 1400 calories a day but then drinking every weekend, spending days hungover, and eating shit food. I still regularly went to the gym but I never really implemented progressive overload. I actually had to take the route of reverse dieting myself because there was no way I could get myself into more of a deficit from 1400 calories. I slowly worked my way up to around 1600, then 1800, and now I sit around 2000 cals a day at maintenance. The BIGGEST things that made a difference for me (and would have sped up this process significantly) is cutting out alcohol, moving to a warm walkable sunny place āļø, prioritizing protein, and implementing progressive overload! For most of my twenties, I spent money to keep up with everyone. I chased trends, bought the clothes and the makeup everyone else had, said yes to every happy hour, every brunch, every weekend trip. My ADHD diagnosis at 30 was my wake up call. For the first time in my life, my brain made sense. The impulsive spending, the dopamine chasing, the avoidance, the āIāll deal with it later,ā the shame spirals, all of it finally had a reason. I realized I wasnāt ābad with money.ā I was unmedicated, overwhelmed, and trying my best with the tools I had. Once I started medication and began healing, it felt like someone turned on the lights in a room I had been stumbling around in for years. I could see the patterns. I could see the habits. I could see the numbers. And instead of panicking, I finally felt ready to make a plan. This year hasnāt been perfect. But it has been honest. And healing. And grounding. I learned that financial health isnāt about deprivation, itās about safety. Itās about being able to trust yourself. Iām learning discipline without shame. Structure without suffocation. Goals without self-hatred. Iām learning to slow down, to check in, to ask myself, āDo I want this, or am I trying to soothe something?ā Iām learning how to pause long enough to make clear minded decisions.

Fully acknowledge that every house set up is different so this may or may not feel easier but if your washer is on the same floor as your kids rooms, this has been awesome for us. I used to program and diet hop like it was my job. Iād stick to something (half asses) for a week or two then change things up because it āwasnāt working.ā If you REALLY audit your habits and consistency what youāll probably find (like old me) is that your consistency and adherence is the problem, not the plan or program. With my clients we spend our check ins auditing habits: - sleep, nutrition, steps, water, training, stress, etc We not only audit the numbers and data but we look at the week out of 100%. I donāt expect 100% out of anyone, myself included but if you have specific goals youāre working toward, I recommend 80% consistency most weeks. Thatās 6/7 days ā¦. If you truly focus on your daily inputs with your habits and eating (as well as 80% Whole Foods) I guarantee the outcome will improve. Your energy will increase. Youāll feel stronger in the gym. Your clothes will fit better or even looser. The data will start to shift in the right direction. Quit focusing solely on the outcome and chasing progress and focus on chasing consistency instead ā¼ļø

Iāve been on my fitness journey for over 2 decades and the one lesson I wish Iād learned sooner isā¦. Your mindset and actions are everything. You can have the perfect ādietā or program made specifically for YOU but if your stuck with an all or nothing mindset with self sabotaging behaviors ā your constantly going to be stopping and starting over. The holidays used to be a weak spot for me. I had goals of āending the year strongā but when I was put in a position to align my actions with my goals, Iād automatically default to what old me would do: mindlessly eat, view the day as āruinedā, make a plan to start over the next day just to repeat the same cycle.
