Just feeling chatty and wanted to verbally process some things that I’m learning about myself recently. I’ve been trying for years to become more of a morning person and while I have made a lot of progress there are just some limitations to it at this time and I feel like rather than trying to force my body to function in a way that doesn’t come naturally, it would be better for my mental health if I just leaned into my bodies natural rhythm instead. I’m a firm believer in intuition based self improvement which to me means really tuning in to my experience, listening to my body, doing what feels aligned in each different moment, and regularly checking in with myself to see what’s working and what isn’t. To me, it’s devotion over harsh discipline. That being said, upon recent introspection I just realized that trying to force my body into a rhythm that creates more stress just because I like the idea of being a morning person is doing more harm than good. Now that I’m choosing to lean into my natural rhythm and use it to my benefit I’m feeling a lot less stress, im feeling more well prepared, organized and efficient rather than chaotic, I’m actually looking forward to waking up in the morning because I know I’ve set myself up for a more ease-filled introduction to the new day and doing all the things I wanted to do in a morning routine in the evening has felt more aligned and more tangibly beneficial than the morning routine ever did. It’s all just about finding what works for you as an individual and that is and ongoing life lesson that I’m learning different layers of everyday. 🙏🏼
