As a woman, my intelligence is “valued” by people’s perception of me. I’ve been mistaken and underestimated of my capabilities as a scientist simply by the way I dress, how I speak, and my passion for makeup. Despite having an extensive #STEM background and creating a platform to support others like me, I’ve considered abandoning it all. If it weren’t for my husband, I would’ve deleted everything and avoided the world. He had convinced me that my efforts had mattered, and pushed me to become the very role model I always imagined for myself. That one decision has changed everything 🤍 I am still in shock to have found myself in this opportunity.
