So this is a little nerve wracking to share…but I started going to therapy about a month ago. Just felt like I needed to get some help on better ways to process my emotions and situations and also work through some hard things I’ve had to deal with over the years. It’s been sooo helpful!! I’m sharing to hopefully help normalize it & encourage anyone that’s been thinking about seeking therapy that it’s so beneficial. I was hesitant because I was nervous to be vulnerable and face those hard feelings. While it’s been a bit heavy to work through, it really has been so healing and freeing to share those things and to work on reframing my thinking. I found an amazing Christian counselor on Better Help online and she’s been such a blessing!! So thankful for those in my circle that encouraged me to go and also encouraged me to go in with an open mind to go wherever the conversation and feelings led, and be intentionally vulnerable to share. I’m still going and still working on healing. I think that’s the best thing we can do for ourselves is to work through those hard things to find true freedom. And it only happens with God’s help too, He has carried me through this healing journey and is continuing to grow me, heal those deep wounds, set me free from shame and fear and give me strength to choose freedom each day.
