All we can do is share our testimony, walk in obedience, and let Jesus’ light shine through us as we walk different. Sometimes the most impactful seeds we plant are through loving actions rather than words we say. Food for thought (i learned this the hard way) 🤍 John 8:32🕊️ #exnewager #newagetojesus #newagetochrist #thankyoujesus #newagedeception #thetruthwillsetyoufree #john832
Religious trauma isn’t just emotional—it’s physiological. The culture we grow up in shapes our nervous system, our identity, and our sense of safety in the world. When that culture is rooted in high-control religion, it often teaches people to disconnect from their bodies, override their instincts, and silence their inner knowing in favor of obedience. In my Utah-based therapy practice, I see the impact of this every day. Chronic anxiety. Shame woven into identity. Difficulty trusting joy. Feeling unsafe in rest. People blaming themselves for trauma they never consented to. Religious trauma doesn’t always look like a single event—it’s often a series of subtle (and not-so-subtle) messages that slowly erode a person’s sense of autonomy, safety, and worth. And the body remembers. Even when someone leaves the religion, those patterns often linger. This is where healing work begins. Naming what happened. Understanding its impact. And slowly building a felt sense of safety in your own body again. Religious trauma is real. And if you’re struggling, you’re not alone—and you’re not broken. #religioustrauma #mormontrauma #exmormon #purityculture #traumatherapist #utahtherapist #nervoussystemhealing #mentalhealthawareness #deconstruction #therapy #mentalhealthtiktok
When a child is asked about sexual behavior or "worthiness," it teaches them that their value is conditional and their body is subject to external judgment. This doesn't support moral development—it often conditions worth through obedience and compliance, and in many cases, crosses into sexual boundary violations. #religioustrauma #spiritualabuse #csaawareness
I’m not pinning roses on myself at all, but you never know what the Lord is doing just from your obedience to Him and not being shy or embarrassed to talk about Him in front of other others. All the employees sincerely were so nice!💕 • #perspective #joyofthelord #talkaboutjesus #encouragement
I’ve cried more tears than I can count the last 5 days as we packed up and headed to a much smaller home for a very short season while He prepares a place that we can’t see yet. The not knowing the plan while being in something so temporary is hard. I’ve questioned what went wrong, what we did, how it happened… but the truth is that this was His plan. We know it. This is obedience and trusting who He is. He has something that we cant see yet and He has a purpose for this specific season too. As children of God, our job isn’t to question what He is doing, it’s to be obedient and trust Him even when it doesn’t make sense. So here’s to trusting when it doesn’t make sense. Not because everything in life looks perfect right now, but because I know the character of my God. I know who He is. I can look back and see His hand in every good and every broken season and how He used each of them for a purpose. Each moment has a purpose and is a part of a plan that we don’t always see. I know His goodness and His love, and He’s never failed us yet. #graceupongrace #christianmom #christianparenting #familylife #christiantiktok
God didn’t ask you to understand it. He just wants you to obey. 🤍 And your obedience may be the one thing that saves your future🕊️ #christianmama #kingdomwomen #christianencouragement #christianwoman
started my travel agent journey in January and still haven’t done anything with it. God gave me the vision for my journal in 2017… and I finally published it in May 2020. But I’ve been inconsistent. Unmotivated. Stuck. The truth is, sometimes we say we’re waiting on God — but He already spoke. He already gave us the oil. He already gave us the jars. He already gave us the vision. Now He’s waiting on us to move. This is your confirmation. This is Part 2 of my “Dear God, I’m Waiting” series. We’re getting real about the struggles of waiting, procrastinating, and being obedient — even when you don’t see the results yet. 🎬 Come back tonight at 9PM — I’ll be breaking down the scriptures I referenced (2 Kings 4 + John 2). 📅 New episode drops every Monday at 4PM. 🙏🏾 Prayer: Lord, forgive me for the times I’ve delayed obedience. Remind me that the answer to my breakthrough might already be in my hands. Give me strength to move in faith, even when I can’t see the full picture. In Jesus’ name, Amen. #DearGodImWaiting #FaithInRealLife #GodGivenVision #ChristianTikTok #FaithInRealLife
Come with my friends and me to the Atlanta BeltLine as we offered free prayer and shared the love of Jesus. 💛 #ObedienceOverComfort #atlantabeltline #christiantiktok #atlanta #jesus
Conviction + Action = Obedience . idk who this is for... other than me. I feel like its time. And this is my Action, my Obedience. For the Christians that needed to hear this. The Christian that needed to additional Conviction lol this is our confirmation. #nonnegotiables #christiantiktok #Convictions #obedience #actionisobedience
I am a sinner, saved by grace (Ephesians 2:1–10). Before I start sharing story times and anyone begins to judge, I want to be clear that these are stories from my past, not my present. I am deeply grateful to God for His forgiveness, for sanctification, and His grace and mercy that kept me even in the seasons when I was walking in disobedience. #psa #storytimes #fypシ
🙏 From my heart… Obedience unlocks what comparison tries to block… Obedience unlocks what comparison tries to block. God doesn’t give it all at once — He provides as you walk. I’m learning to trust His timing and take action even when I can’t see it all. If you’ve been waiting for clarity, maybe God is waiting for your obedience. #confidenceandfaith #ConfidentMom #elevatedbasics #christiantiktok #momstyleinspo
Sometimes the hardest part isn’t the journey…it’s the first step. That tiny moment where you choose trust over fear, obedience over comfort, surrender over control. But God meets you right there. Just like Peter stepping out of the boat, the miracle didn’t happen while he stayed in the familiar. It happened the moment he moved toward Jesus. That first step wasn’t perfect, but it was obedient — and obedience is where God’s power begins to unfold. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5–6 Take the step. Even if your knees shake. Even if you can’t see the whole path. God doesn’t ask you to understand — just to trust. He’ll steady you as you go. #worship #sunday #reset #obedience #encouragement
