Nasolabial fold week is a popular week because there’s a lot going on around the nose and you can accumulate excess fluid there. Many things can impact this: repetitive motion can contribute to wrinkling, tightness in the masseter can push against this area, creating deeper wrinkles, inflammation due to allergies, can cause an additional histamine response, resulting in more fluid here, etc. If you have issues with nasolabial folds, manual lymphatic drainage can also be helpful in reducing that excess accumulation of fluids. Regaining financial independence in time for my husband’s 46th birthday was not in the list of things I imagined would happen this year. Taking him on a trip to Madrid isn’t something he would’ve agreed to let me organize and it’s certainly not something I could’ve managed on a candle-maker’s salary. It might seem trivial but my husband is the kindest and most supportive partner someone could wish for. He’s supported every hair brain idea I’ve had for the past decade, full force. He’s given me the space to become whole again after giving up my career and becoming a mom. So every year, when his birthday rolls around, I scramble to come up with something thoughtful enough to match the love that he gives me. It always comes out of the “joint account” which we both know is there thanks to his earnings. I know it’s more nuanced than that and that being home with the kids gave him the space and time to earn for us but when you’re financially dependent on your partner, it really affects your self-worth. Life is funny, a simple reel changed the trajectory of my work this year, and now means I can treat my husband to the thing he loves most: traveling and discovering new places. Feeling free. Here’s what’s working for me: 1️⃣ High-protein calorie deficit — 1900 calories/day, at least 185g protein. (I have What I Eat In A Day reels on my page!) 2️⃣ Eat protein within 30 mins of waking, then meals every 2–3 hours. 3️⃣ Zero alcohol, refined sugar, seed oils, or processed foods. Focusing a ton on single ingredient foods. 4️⃣ Lift heavy 4x a week 5️⃣ At least 10k steps a day 6️⃣ 7+ hours of sleep. 7️⃣ Staying hydrated (80oz+ of water + electrolytes daily). 8️⃣ No cheat days (for now!) Feeling stronger, leaner, and proud of my consistency!
