Oh I was so blissfully unaware of what the next 7 months would bring 🫠 But I am so honored and humbled to be an example for others of putting your mental health first and not staying in situations that are toxic or no longer align with your personal values #fyp
I was diagnosed with bipolar 2 seven years ago and for 5 years I didn’t know what that meant or how to treat it. I was in and out of mental health hospitals and programs working with doctors that prescribed me what they perceived would work, and then I finally landed on the medication that worked for me after trying all the options, and finding the courage to speak up and say what was working for my mind and body. Since then, thanks to God being with me every step of the way, I haven’t had a single “incident.” I promised myself during those times that I would live for me when that season of my life passed. Now that it has, I still find it hard to go all out for what I want, but I’ve decided to take a full step towards what makes me happy which I have hope will lead me closer to my purpose.
Mental health first, always 🤍 #teachersoftiktok #blackeducator #fyp #minivlog

Going on vacation and *not* seeing all the hot spots cause I was busy resting is my new flex and #Brachmadrid is my new favorite place to go and do that. We went with plans to schlep around town and wound up spending a lot of our days eating our weight at their restaurant and getting treatments at their spa, Capsule. I had my first lymphatic drainage massage which was insane, I seriously think I dropped a couple of kgs from it. Toph did an hour long session in their hyperbaric (!!!) chamber. They also have a sensory deprivation tank, a sauna and steam room, gym, mental health sessions and yoga room. I was blown away by the attention to detail in this hotel, if I had to describe it in two words it would be “quiet luxury”. It’s designed by Phillipe Starck who clearly has an appreciation for Spanish craft and design. The dark terrazzo floors, wood paneling and earth colored tiles made the place feel really warm and inviting. I might have to steal a couple of ideas for my own house. What really stood out was the incredible staff at Brach, you can tell everyone there loves their job. So if you’re ever planning a trip to Madrid, put Brach at the top of the list of places to go ❤️ @Evok Collection
my month of ✨peace✨ i'm calling it now! october took a hit on my mental health but i refuse to let that continue into november🥰 #workingmom #workingmomlife
If no one ever warned you about what was coming your way in early motherhood … same 🙋♀️ I thought I was prepared. I read the books. I packed the hospital bag. I stocked the freezer meals. But what every influencer I was following at the time left out was how I’d feel like I lost myself a little. Or how lonely 3AM can be. Or how your marriage shifts. Or how you second guess everything and suddenly leaving the house feels like a Herculean task. So I created this space and my website (www.itsmamameg.com) for saying the things no one says and helping moms have even a 1% better experience as a mom. !!! It's ok to want time away from your kids !!! I thrive being alone. It's when I can focus best, recharge, think clearly, think period tbh. I get overstimulated so easily, so walking around with no one touching me or yelling for me is literal heaven. Calling all ADHD women, and anyone navigating ADHD with female hormones 🧠💫 I’m currently going through my ADHD assessment and soon to be formally diagnosed. I’m also considering trying medication - and I’ve been really curious about how it interacts with female hormones, our cycles, and the natural rhythms of focus, creativity, and emotion. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s been through this - women, men, or anyone with lived experience. Whether you’re on medication, exploring therapy, CBT, ADHD coaching, or other holistic routes - I’d love to know what’s worked for you, what hasn’t, and how it’s felt. Let’s break the mental health stigma together and keep making these conversations normal ❤️🩹 Please share in comments if you feel comfortable or DM me if preferred. Thank you in advance #ADHD #Neurodivergent #MentalHealthAwareness #WomensHealth #ADHDJourney

fav place to take a mental health walk is down the aisle of an airplane
Just feeling chatty and wanted to verbally process some things that I’m learning about myself recently. I’ve been trying for years to become more of a morning person and while I have made a lot of progress there are just some limitations to it at this time and I feel like rather than trying to force my body to function in a way that doesn’t come naturally, it would be better for my mental health if I just leaned into my bodies natural rhythm instead. I’m a firm believer in intuition based self improvement which to me means really tuning in to my experience, listening to my body, doing what feels aligned in each different moment, and regularly checking in with myself to see what’s working and what isn’t. To me, it’s devotion over harsh discipline. That being said, upon recent introspection I just realized that trying to force my body into a rhythm that creates more stress just because I like the idea of being a morning person is doing more harm than good. Now that I’m choosing to lean into my natural rhythm and use it to my benefit I’m feeling a lot less stress, im feeling more well prepared, organized and efficient rather than chaotic, I’m actually looking forward to waking up in the morning because I know I’ve set myself up for a more ease-filled introduction to the new day and doing all the things I wanted to do in a morning routine in the evening has felt more aligned and more tangibly beneficial than the morning routine ever did. It’s all just about finding what works for you as an individual and that is and ongoing life lesson that I’m learning different layers of everyday. 🙏🏼

Ok but what is “staying consistent”? 👀 My take: True consistency isn’t perfection. It’s not posting every day, or forcing creativity when you’re empty (hello burnout) It’s showing up honestly, with what you have to give that day. 💙 Some days it’s a full day of filming or batch planning 💙 Some days it’s a few ideas written in your notes app or a simple reel 💙 Some days it’s a reset, with new plans for tomorrow It’s not about never pausing, it’s about not quitting. You’ll build more when you stop trying to build perfectly. Your rhythm is still momentum ✨ • creator mindset, ugc creator, creator burnout, mental health, mental wellness, stress and anxiety, consistency, building habits
