Let me introduce you to the beauty of Persian New Year {Norooz} and the traditional details behind this decorative setup. 💚🤍♥️ Persian New Year has been celebrated for over 3,000 years and it is one of the most ancient and continuously celebrated holidays in history. Originating in ancient Persia (modern day Iran), Norooz now transcends national and religious boundaries, embraced by over 15 countries and diverse faiths. Marking the vernal equinox (the start of Spring - circa March 19, 20, or 21, dependent on the exact moment the sun crosses the celestial equator), Norooz is filled with cultural festivities, and family gatherings, with a core theme of renewal, joy, prosperity and togetherness. This year Norooz will be on Thursday, March 20, at 2:02 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) in California and we are ready to celebrate. Iranians have a quintessential Norooz tradition where we decorate a Haft-Seen table. The Haft-Seen table is an elaborate spread and arrangement of seven symbolic items, each beginning with the Persian letter “S” (س) representing virtues essential for the year ahead. I got the scariest call of my life at work. That my family was in an ambulance and they didn’t know which ER they were headed to and to call back right away. Then of course the call volume was too high and I couldn’t get through. I didn’t know who was hurt or what happened and I just ran as fast as I could to my car. My husband lost a ton of blood and his shirt had gotten cut off by paramedics in the driveway before they scooped up our kids and drove everyone to the ER. He has an extremely deep wound and has minimal movement in his wrist and fingers. He will need surgery to repair his hand function. We are asking our friends and family for help with surgery and the time he will be off from playing music for his fans. If you read this far, thank you. ❤️🥺

Acid reflux can occur when stomach acid is high or low. It’s often assumed in allopathic medicine it’s always high and PPIs are given. You definitely don’t want reflux because it’s uncomfortable, but long term it can lead to esophageal damage and cellular changes. The majority of my clients actually have LOW stomach acid. I wrote an article about navigating acid reflux - comment REFLUX and I’ll send it over. 1. CHRONIC STRESS I’m talking long term stress in which the gut brain connection is impacted. Your nervous system plays a role in your digestive function and if digestive juices are flowing. This isn’t your everyday healthy stress. 2. H PYLORI Note that you have to have very high levels to test positive in western medicine because they give you 4 antibiotics and a PPI. It takes a toll on the body. Only 3 of my clients tested high with their doc, BUT countless have tested high on the stool test I offer because it actually tells you a number (not just yes or no, there’s a range). Morale of the story, support the person and their symptoms. How do I know it worked? Their reflux goes away and it’s negative on a re-test 3. LOW MINERALS Minerals are required to make stomach acid! Zinc, sodium and potassium are the three I focus on. These are best measured in tissue such as hair as that’s where the majority of minerals are stored. I offer HTMA testing if you’re curious on your levels - I recommend all postpartum women do this test! Low sodium: feeling dehydrated, overwhelmed, anxious, craving salty foods Low potassium: constipation or slower transit time common Zinc: immunity and hormone connection Which foods to eat?
